Are monochrome websites boring?

1285335_98503105Web design trends come and go. Some are great and others are not so great. Following design trends can be helpful, especially if you’re looking to breathe new life into a stagnant website.

One exciting design trend we’ve seen recently is the monochrome website. While many people associate monochrome with boring, monochrome websites are actually quite inspired if done correctly.

Make monochrome website design work for you. Select a single color for your website and go all in. Work with your website design pro to create a bold and exciting monochrome design for your site.

By selecting one color, you can draw attention to the important areas of your website. Highlight key elements on your pages with bold splashes of your selected color. It’s a sure way to engage visitors to your website.

Remember, you don’t need to rigidly adhere to the monochrome design. You can include photographs or other page elements with other colors. Just make sure that when you look at your website, the dominant color dominates. Go bold and you’ll make a lasting impression.

For example, if your brand features red, black and white, you might choose to use red for your monochrome design. Imagine how powerful your website could be if you accent with red while allowing for generous white spacing throughout your pages.

Instead of using just one color, you can also use shades of your selected color throughout your design. You can really make your website stand out by using shades of a single color consistently throughout your website. For the biggest impact, make sure you use plenty of white space in your design. Your monochrome colors should be used to highlight your page elements.

Can monochrome websites be boring? Sure, but they don’t have to be. Your web designer will be able to guide you through the process of selecting the right color for your monochrome web design. While it doesn’t have to be one of the main colors of your brand, it does add to the impact.

The key to making monochrome web design work is to use the color or lack thereof to maximize the visual impact of your website.

Would you ever consider using a monochrome design for your website?
